If you're looking for a live and work place, Paul's Place is ideal... in the basement you have the same size space as upstairs about 120 square metres in all.. It is divided up as follows: (measurements to follow in feet and inches)
*Studio/Summer kitchen with chimney, water at sink 12 ft x 14 ft.
*Toilet 3 foot x 5 foot.
*Boiler room/Laundry room. 30 ft x 12 ft
*Cave/wine cellar 7 ft x 9 ft
*Garage for 2 cars, drive-on mower & storage etc. Large! 14 ft x 40 ft.
There are concrete & tiled floors throughout & it would be easy to convert into flat etc. There are several windows on two sides of the basement, (The 2 sides that are not earthed up to the upstairs level)

The famous international Cartoon Festival is starting on

Details:
Celebrating its 40th year, this is one of the big festivals of the Poitou-Charentes.

Held in Angoulême in the Charente, this year sees a range of big names in the cartoon and comic world including Jean-C Denis and prize-winning Albert Uderzo. There is also a retrospective of Mickey Mouse since his creation in the 1930s.

This year's guest of honour is Japanese Manga legend Leiji Matsumoto, famous for his space operas such as Space Battleship Yamato (also known as Star Blazers).

Something to do on Sunday if you lived in Paul's House... visit the medieval town of Parthenay, 20 minutes away.
It was once an important stopover for pilgrims en route to Compostela but is now famed for its beef cattle market which takes place every Wednesday. Sheep, apples and local dairy produce are also sold here in abundance.

You know that Paul's house has a lot of land surrounding it (with fresh water supply) perfect for rearing animals... so this market could be interesting for you...

The medieval quarter is worth a look with the cobbled streets of rue la Vau-St-Jacques leading up to 13th-century ramparts and Pont and Porte St-Jacques - a narrow bridge which joins a drawbridge with tall, twin towers.

Today, Parthenay hosts numerous aeronautical, mechanical and electronics trade fairs in its splendid Palais des Congres. Art exhibitions and concerts are also held here. For ideas of what to do surrounding Parthenay head out to Parthenay-le-Vieux with its beautiful Romanesque church or Thouars with its 16th-century Chateau d'Oiron.
