Wishing all our visitors a very happy new year.

I am hoping to let the farmhouse much more in 2026. This year was all about re pointing, solar panels, and time and space for family. 2026 is going to be for our visitors who enjoy the peace and calm of the country, walks, sun bathing and relaxing with lots of space a salt water pool and lazy days visiting pretty medieval villages with charming restaurants.

We have not let the house very much this summer because of family and work, but our Dutch visitors just left this lovely 10/10 review.
A spacious, cozy house, beautifully situated in a peaceful area with plenty of hiking opportunities. Enjoying the sunset by the pool was heavenly! Caro and Den are lovely people who give you a warm welcome and help you whenever needed. We'd love to come back again.
I hope they do.
This year we are having Chez-Caro buttered, or re-pointed as it should be called. The house is built out of very random uneven schiste stones and all sorts of birds, bats and bees have moved in as the old lime has fallen out. Now it is being repointed by hand with lime by our very skilled artisan, Mathieu who is painstakingly drilling out the old and pushing in the new. We will look much brighter and smarter when he has finished. He has completed the long wall on the road side, and has started the epaule or shoulder wall so I am confidant we will be ready to let again by next Spring. I hope our smaller residents will find other walls [Dens shed] to occupy.

Mourjou has such a lot to offer, the Maison de la Chataigne is a museum, an interactive experience, a starting point for lovely walks and an exciting place for children to play and expore more traditional games. Plenty of picnic seating and animals to pet.
Who could ask for more.
