Today we have the absolute pleasure to introduce you to the absolutely stunning Maison du Platane.

Located in the beautiful traditional Provençal village of Lagnes, this 4 bedroom house sleeps 8 and is ideally situated between Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and the Luberon Valley, making it the ideal location for exploring the bountiful markets and antiques stores of Isle and the the medieval hilltop villages of the Luberon, named as some of the most beautiful in France.

Having said all that, we wouldn't blame you if you chose to stay put and soak up the peace and tranquility of this truly unique home.

The pool and gardens offer a real slice of Provençe life with Plantane trees, lavender trees and a super-chic stone wall surrounding the whole outside space, giving a real secret-garden feel and affording the most laid back area to relax all day long.

The inside is just as relaxing, with beautifully appointed kitchen and dining spaces as well as 4 magnificently decorated bedrooms with en-suites, truly making the most of the original features and perfectly blending modern and traditional.

Speaking of modern, there is air conditioning throughout the house as well as Smart TVs, Bose speakers and a laundry room with 2 machines and a fully equipped kitchen.

However, it's the traditional feel and the relaxing vibe that we love so much about this property, with plenty of extra spaces for guests to seek out their own private areas to read, siesta or simply sit and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Lagnes itself has a small shop and bakery and is a short bike ride or countryside walk away from the village of Fontaine de Vaucluse. A further 10 minutes away are large supermarkets at both Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and Coustellet.

We love this stunning home and we're sure you will too. For more information on this or any of our other properties please do get in touch or visit our website to see this and all our other amazing holiday homes waiting to welcome you.

Apparently today is Blue Monday, the saddest day of the year.

While we here at Provence Days feel the winter blues as much as the rest of the world, we can't help but think that the bluest thing here in the Luberon Valley is the absolutely stunning summer backdrop!

For 300 days a year we are blessed with the most divine clear skies with the most intense colour you've ever seen...and when the long sunny days do finally give way to warm relaxing nights the sunsets are something truly magical to behold too.

So, if you're feeling blue today, don't worry, we're all finding the colder, shorter days tricky, but we're also looking forward to a couple of months time when the sun pops it's hat on, the cafés throw open their doors to guests, the water warms up ready for refreshing dips and the Luberon Valley is once again at it's very blue-skied finest.

If planning your summer holidays is getting you through the winter evenings then we've prepared several useful articles on our website. This one is on one of our absolute favourite villages, Gordes, perched up on high, looking out over the valley. It's one of the most photographed sites in France and designated one of it's most beautiful villages.

https://provencedays.com/explore/villages/gordes/

While you're having a look around the site you'll find several other useful articles, including one on our favourite markets, one on our favourite villages, one on antiques...there's plenty to keep you happy on the saddest day of the year!

So chin up, summer isn't far away and we're looking forward to seeing you 🌞

Autumn in Ansouis.

Did you know that there are 5 villages in the Luberon that have been awarded the title of 'les plus beaux villages de France' or, the most beautiful villages of France?

Possibly the least well known is the super chic little hilltop village of Ansouis. Pronounced 'on-swees' (really emphasise that last S), it is on the southern side of the Luberon, not far from Lourmarin and Aix en Provence and is the perfect place to wander around, take some photos, grab a coffee and enjoy the laid back Provençal atmosphere.

Now autumn is here you can really see the changes in colours around the village and it makes a stroll along the country lanes a real sensory delight. As well as witnessing the beautiful palettes of the falling leaves you can also feel the crisp air on your cheeks and smell the heady mix of winter fires, tasty local dishes being prepared and even olives being pressed ready to create the delicious oil that this area produces.

It's really a very wonderful time of the year.

The team here at Provence Days are busy preparing for next summer, when the temperature rises, the days grow longer and the valley is thriving with markets, lively restaurant terraces and an abundance of local culture and customs to immerse yourself in. We would love to help you prepare for that special holiday so please do reach out to us, or have a look at some of our articles and blogs and of course our thoughtfully curated selection of villas and gites available for rent here:
