What’s happening to our neighborhood bridge?
Artist JR has transformed the Pont Neuf — Paris’s oldest bridge — into a giant cave. La Caverne du Pont Neuf wraps the entire bridge in massive, jagged rock formations, creating the illusion that the Seine is flowing through a canyon rather than the heart of a city.
It’s a tribute to Christo and Jeanne-Claude, who famously wrapped this very same bridge in fabric back in 1985. Forty years later, JR answered with stone.
