Quality of working life (or QWL) is an essential element for today's companies.
Workers are no longer simply looking for a salary, they want a stimulating and qualitative work environment.
To assess the quality of working life, six factors are studied:
1️⃣ Social climate: In a company, we need to ensure that relations between colleagues are correct, that managers are motivating and involved with teams, and that employees are on an equal footing.
2️⃣ Work content: Work should be stimulating, with sufficient autonomy, varied tasks and appropriate tools.
3️⃣ Occupational health: This includes working hours, environment, premises and telecommuting policy.
4️⃣ Skills: The company must ensure that its employees are able to develop their careers, for example through training.
5️⃣ Equality at work: The company must ensure equal opportunities, equality between men and women, non-discrimination and a good work-life balance.
6️⃣ Participative management: Management must encourage employee motivation and involvement in the company. This can be achieved, for example, by getting everyone to take a stand on new issues.
