La Grenouille Verte

La Grenouille Verte, our gite in the Limousin, France La Grenouille Verte is a comfortable house in the sleepy hamlet of Vimpere.

We have three double bedrooms, two with double beds and one with twin beds. The large kitchen/dining room is well equipped and the cosy lounge has satellite tv and radio, bookcases stuffed with books, a small selection of DVDs and some board games and jigsaw puzzles. We also have a wifi internet connection if you need to stay in touch with the outside world. In the spacious bathroom there is a ful

l sized bath with hand shower attachment and a lovely separate shower cubicle. Outside space includes a private pool with decked area for sunbathing,various shady terraces and a large garden. The front terrace has a picnic table and BBQ area. Although in the peace of the countryside, where you can sit on the terrace under the shade of the trees listening to the birds sing, we are just 40 minutes from Limoges with it's airport, historic buildings and porcelain production. All of the nearby towns have a weekly market where you can find fresh meat, fish, cheese, fruit and vegetables. The swimming lake of St Estephe, with it’s free parking, entrance and use of pedalos has walks around the lake and several eating places and is about half an hours drive away. Vimpere is in the heart of the Perigord Limousin Natural Park, with many interesting walks and beautiful lakes and the scenery is wonderful at all times of the year. If exploring is not for you and a period of peace and quiet is what you seek, then relax around the house and pool and enjoy the garden. We can also provide freshly cooked meals for you upon request.

Sad to say that the couple who had booked a 26 night stay in May/June have had to cancel because of a health issue. So, those dates are available again.

Bookings are coming in fast for the 2023 season! We currently have 9 weeks booked which includes a 26 night booking May/June 😀

We are also fully booked for August 🌞

We have had about 12cms of snow since yesterday evening. This morning the garden is quiet and peaceful and so beautiful!

The sun is shining and the wind has dropped so on with painting the shutters! Made so much quicker with a spraygun but still a time consuming job, taking them down, preparing, undercoat and top coat then back in place. I deserve a beer!!
