A new MB route ( la Fario) has opened up this month for Mountain bikers. Classified as a blue-level route, La Fario offers a trail of around 40 kilometres (80 km return), with 1,780 metres of elevation gain and 750 metres of elevation loss. Suitable for a full day’s hike, the route takes an average of 4 hours to ascend and 3 hours to descend, at a leisurely pace ideal for exploring. Starting from the marshes of Bourg-Saint-Maurice and passing through the charming hamlets of Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise and Villaroger – not to mention the panoramic views of Montvalezan, La Rosière and Séez – the route ends above the impressive Tignes dam.

The route alternates between different types of terrain: greenways, forest tracks, balcony-style sections and more playful stretches. With no major technical difficulties or steep gradients, it offers a steady ride, suitable for both e-MTB beginners and experienced riders looking to clock up the kilometres in unspoilt natural surroundings. This adds to all the amazing terrain we have from the chalet door as well as the lift access in resorts

My lovely neighbour gave me these cherries from her tree. Apart from being very good for you eaten by the handful I decided to make some cherry chocolate brownie with them.
Tip for destoning from Jonny Kaye - put the cherry in the top of a wine bottle and with the thicker end of a chop stick push down on the cherry and the stone will pop out of the bottom into the bottle 👌
