🏠 Flat Roof Friday! -Govilon

Another flat roof completed, and this one needed a full overhaul. The existing fibreglass roof had failed, so we stripped it right back and started fresh to make sure the client gets a roof that lasts.

Here's what we did:
- Removed the failed fibreglass roof
- Installed new timbers to strengthen the structure
- Added insulation to keep the property warm and energy efficient
- Laid new OSB boards for a solid, clean surface
- Added vents for proper airflow and to prevent future moisture issues
- Finished with a durable EPDM rubber roof for long-lasting weather protection

We were recently commissioned by Monmouthshire County Council to carry out a full roof and fascia renewal on a local bus stop — and we're proud to say the results speak for themselves.

Here's what the job involved:
✅ Removal of the damaged, rotten existing roof
✅ Replaced with new uPVC fascias and guttering

💥 From a digger on site to a finished workshop — here's a recent build we're really proud of in Longtown. 🏗️

The ground needed clearing and levelling before anything else could happen, so we brought in the mini digger to get the area prepared and the base frame laid. Once the groundwork was solid, we got to work on the timber cabin itself.

The result? A timber workshop, built to the client's spec — warm timber finish, double doors, windows for natural light, and built to last. It even has a pretty impressive neighbour in the background!

🏡 Sometimes a job isn't just about the carpentry. It's about making someone's day-to-day life that little bit easier. 🔨

We completed a staircase renovation for an elderly client who had been struggling with how steep their stairs were. It had become a real challenge, and they needed a practical, long-lasting solution — not just a cosmetic fix.

Here's what we did:

•We fully deconstructed the existing staircase and rebuilt it from the ground up. The bottom treads were redesigned with a less steep pitch to make them far more manageable. The tight turn at the base was widened into a small landing, making the transition from the hallway much safer and more comfortable. To tidy everything up, we relocated the radiator and boxed in the base neatly, giving the whole area a clean, finished look. Throughout, we applied a fresh coat of white satinwood paint, and arranged for new carpet to be laid to complete the transformation.

The result speaks for itself — a staircase that not only looks completely refreshed, but actually works for the person using it every day.

⚡ Emergency Roof Repairs After Lightning Strike ⚡

We were called out after an oak tree was struck by lightning, sending a large pieces of oak around 100 metres and straight into the roof. It caused significant damage and left the property exposed.
