Large Oak frame repair job in Frodsham completed last week on a 1600s grade 2 listed building. Keeping each repair like for like as much as possible using original fixing methods and more modern repairs where needed.

Some photos show the original wattle and daub panels inbetween oak timbers which could be made out of wooden strips and sticks, horse hair and horse or cow 💩 from 400 years ago.

Timber repair job on a local church this time, built in 1869.
Stonework removed, hammer beam and hammer brace cut into and splice and all decorative panels and moulding in the area of decay replicated, replaced and all stained to match existing timber works.

A structural Timber repair job finished and handed over yesterday on the old Cow Byre part of the Temple Newsham estate in Leeds.
Ready for all the props to be removed holding the roof up while we replace the timber ends and all restrained to blend in with original timbers.

All original steel restraint straps carefully removed and refit once complete on each Truss end.

Another contract finally over the line this weekend in Scotland.

Structural timber repair works on a listed building near the river Clyde one of the last remaining timber/cast iron buildings that wasn't bombed in the 2nd world war 🚢

This one has been a proper graft for the team with the shear size, weight of timbers and access to the timber repairs being around 60ft off the ground and working inbetween scaffolds, pipes, cranes and anything else.
100s of repairs carried out on this one.

Thanks to the lads for nearly 7 months full time up there 🫡🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🪵🪓

One of our final jobs on Hall completed On the Art Gallery. To build large, more sturdy walls to create more hanging space for Paintings and to create an accessible voidspace between the hanging walls and the windows.

First job of the 3rd and final phase on Towneley Hall complete today. Large tower roof stripped, battoned and larch cladded with 2 new access hatches added , and timber gutter linings formed for new stainless steel and lead gutters. All ready for roofers to finish 🔨🪓🪚🪵

A large contract finally over the line today in Radcliffe Town centre we've been on for over 6 months. Stabilisation works of this old building one of the only remaining buildings in the town centre that hasn't been demolished.
Hundreds of vertical and horizontal wall restraint ties added to ensure stability of external walls, a large fraction of joists replaced due to dry wrot, over 400 floorboards removed and replaced including acoustic flooring, and 8 resin repairs on the roof level. Some hard graft gone into this contrsct over the months , All ready for roofing contractors to start on site tomorrow 🔨 🪚🪓🪵

A large timber repair job we've just completed in Liverpool on an 1800s grade 2 listed church, being converted into high end apartments. Blood sweat and tears gone into this project consisting of 13 large timbers cut down on site, shaped, chamfered and dragged up 6m to the church ceiling 🪵⛪🪚🔨📐 proper graft 💪

Large timber repair carried out on an early 1900s school in Sheffield. Decayed Hammer beam sat on a decayed timber cobal holding the tower bell above the roof up. Lots of structural propping designed by a structural engineer on this one due to the vast weight above. All timber sourced from a local sawmill yard 🪚 some graft went into this one 💪 🪵🪚🔨📐⚒️
