🔥 Job Opportunity: Fire and Flood Technician

📍 Location: Based at our Glasgow East Office (Covering North/South Lanarkshire, Falkirk, Glasgow, Aberdeenshire & Dundee)

🕒 Employment Type: Full-Time | 40 hours/week (08:30 – 17:00)

📅 Salary: Dependent on experience

Rainbow Restoration is one of the UK’s leading disaster recovery and specialist cleaning companies. We are currently looking for a Fire and Flood Technician to join our Glasgow East-based team.

You will work on varied and rewarding restoration projects for both domestic and commercial clients, helping them recover from fire, flood, and other property damage across a wide geographic area—from Lanarkshire and Glasgow to Dundee and Aberdeenshire.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

• Attend sites affected by fire, flood, and other disasters to carry out restoration works

• Strip out damaged materials and set up drying regimes

• Complete daily risk assessments and follow health and safety procedures

• Work both independently and as part of a team

• Provide excellent customer service and maintain respectful conduct on all properties

• Be flexible to adapt to changing workloads and client needs

• Participate in the on-call rota (paid retainer) to attend emergency out-of-hours callouts

✅ What We’re Looking For:

• Hardworking, conscientious, and adaptable

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Able to work away from home when required (accommodation and expenses provided)

• Good DIY or building knowledge is a plus – but not essential

• Full UK driving licence required

• Willing to work occasional evenings, weekends, and night shifts

• BDMA-certified (British Damage Management Association) preferred but not essential as full training will be provided through our tailored City & Guilds Rainbow Restoration Professional Training Program

• Gain certification through a mix of on-the-job training, toolbox talks, e-learning, and off-site courses at our Central Office in Nottinghamshire

This week, we were pleased to welcome the The Oliver King Foundation to our Central Office to deliver defibrillator training to staff and members of our franchise network. 🙌

The session provided vital, hands-on guidance in how to respond confidently in an emergency, reinforcing the importance of preparedness and awareness in our workplaces and communities.

We are also proud to confirm the installation of two new defibrillators within our network at Rainbow Restoration Sheffield and Rainbow Restoration Stockport & Cheadle, further strengthening our commitment to safeguarding colleagues, customers and the public.

Our relationship with the Oliver King Foundation, led by Mark King OBE, reflects a shared commitment to increasing access to lifesaving equipment and training across the UK, and we are grateful for their continued support in helping us raise awareness of the importance of defibrillator provision. 💙

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing and managing insurance claims in a timely and efficient manner.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Communicating with all customers, policyholders, loss adjusters and insurance companies

- Diary management for Technician appointments

- Managing and processing claims from start to finish

- Documenting claim activity and maintaining accurate records

- Adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements

**Skills required**

- Previous experience in insurance claims handling is advantageous but not essential as training will be given.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Excellent communication and telephony skills

- Basic IT knowledge as system training will be given
