Last week we were delighted to be awarded the Visit England ROSE award 2026 for 'going the extra mile' 🌹
The award is for Curlew Cottage, our lovely purpose built accessible Cottage.

Our little business is lucky enough to have lots of lovely guests stay in all of our cottages. We really appreciate your kind words and we love that we have welcomed many of you back, some for many years! Thank you 💙

Last Friday I received an email which took me by surprise.
We had won an award for Curlew Cottage from VisitEngland. I had not entered into any competitions, so when I read more about it, I was really touched to hear that we had been nominated by our quality assessor. Based on her comments and online feedback we are one of 100 chosen accommodation providers across England to receive the ROSE Award 🌹

Ever wondered what actually happens once you climb into the Traxter?

You're not just bumping around a field. Our guides Michael and Patrick are firm favourites, and it's easy to see why, they take you right up into the hills, over 1,000 feet, through 6,000 years of farming history. You'll see red deer up close, spot the outline of an Iron Age hillfort cut into the landscape, and hear amazing stories that go from the Bronze Age right through to how the farm runs today.

It's part wildlife, part history lesson, part "how did I not know this was here." Most people come away saying the same thing they didn't expect it to be this good.
