Over the next 15 years, the number of retired people renting their homes from a buy-to-let landlords will double.
Many retired people own their home, having paid off their mortgage whilst working, meaning for the rest of their lives, their accommodation is effectively free.
Yet, with 8% of the people in private rented accommodation being retired today (and this is set to double by 2031), the dream of free accommodation when retired is a distant hope

When you are dealing in property, it’s important you understand one of the basics in Estate Agency terminology.

Who is the purchaser and who is the vendor?

The purchaser is the buyer, whilst the seller of the property is sometimes called the vendor.

The phrase vendor and its origin is Latin (blame the Romans!)

So if you get confused with all this property terminology, don’t worry, most people do and you are not the only one who struggles with this!
