The government has unveiled its plans for £500,000 of funding to the social housing sector to help challenge social landlords and improve resident engagement.

The training will help residents communicate effectively with their landlord to ‘demand a higher quality of service, where needed.’

Yesterday we took a visit to one of our latest developments in Chester - a former dated vacant care home will now become a modern and bright 20 bedroom supported living facility.

Completing by the end of the month - this facility has undergone a complete transformation and we're excited to share the final photos next month once furnished.

The contractors for one of our latest projects in Mexborough have featured in the local newspaper this weekend!

Concept Construction are on a mission to reunite a family photo album discovered behind a radiator cover at our site. It is believed to have belonged to to army veteran Geoffrey Smith.

Let's hope for some good news like us reuniting a lost wedding ring with Mr Staley's son earlier this month!

Yesterday RedSide were invited to Meta for Business's Good Ideas Studio Event.

It was a fantastic day to connect small business leaders with talks on growing your business community, building your brand and the power of social media.

The talks had some great speakers with innovative ideas for the growth of brand communities and the influence social media has on them. A great day!

Some feel good Friday news from RedSide today, Mr Staley's son has finally been reunited with his late father's wedding ring!

As you may know, we found a wedding ring in an envelope trapped down the side of a safe in one of our latest developments in Solihull. The property was a former care home so after lots of tracking down, we managed to find Mr Staley's son.

He was extremely grateful and we're glad we could find a happy ending for all those involved.

Autumn Statement - Social Housing Key Announcements:

◾ The government will cap the increase in social rents at a maximum of 7% in 2023-24.
◾ Supported housing providers will be excluded from having to comply with this policy, therefore rents will be allowed to rise by up to CPI + 1% in 2023-24 for this type of accommodation.
◾ Autumn Statement allocated up to £8bn in funding for NHS and adult social care by 2024/25. Of this, £3.3bn is targeted at helping the NHS reduce the number of patients who should be discharged into the care system.
◾ The government will allocate £1 billion in 2023 and £1.7 billion in 2024 for adult social care additional grant funding.
◾ "Today’s increase in funding will allow the social care system to help deliver an estimated 200,000 more care packages over the next two years."
