In this video, you’ll see two asbestos‑clad pipes discovered in the roof space of a pre‑2000 property during one of our recent surveys. They look harmless at first glance — but disturbing asbestos without knowing it’s there can release fibres that pose serious health risks.
🔎 A quick reminder:
Asbestos was widely used in UK homes until 1999, which means any property built before 2000 could contain it — in lofts, pipe lagging, insulation boards, textured coatings, and more.
⚠️ If you’re planning DIY, renovations, or even just clearing out your loft, always be cautious.
If you’re unsure whether a material contains asbestos, don’t touch it. A professional asbestos survey can identify risks and help you stay safe.
If you’re buying or selling a home and want peace of mind, we’re here to help.
