People in the UK can earn up to £12,570 a year before they have to pay tax - but a petition is calling for this amount to be doubled for pensioners. 🧓🤔

The campaign calls for pensioners be given a separate tax code allowing them to earn £25,140 before paying tax. In just the last week, the petition has amassed more than 25,000 signatures, taking it over 75,000. 100,000 would trigger a debate in Parliament where Rachel Reeves' Treasury will have to defend its position.

Less than two weeks to go.. the Hale 10k and Hale 3k return on Sunday 15th February with over 2,000 runners set to run through the roads of Hale, Bowdon and Ashley.

In order to create a safe environment for the runners, spectators and event team, road closures will be in place throughout the race route.

Oh dear!
Ashley Road Railway bridge was open
Unfortunately Network Rail had failed to organise the road closure & plan with Trafford Council.
Workmen arrived but had to go away.
Hopefully the “mess” can be resolved quickly
