With the recent increase in the cost of building materials and labour it is a very uncertain time for people hoping to build their dream home or buy a house to renovate.

Always interested in ways for anyone that has dreamed the dream of having their own little Irish cottage. For some it can become a reality, for others it will always be a pipe dream.

BUT it is achievable

I am particularly interested in the 'Fractioning' method.

Steeping aside the reality of building works, are there any other ways you can think of that could allow the realisation of that dream of ownership or salvation?

Making the most of your little Character cottage. Its great when some new home builders decide to retain and reuse rather than demolish. Appreciate the purists won't like an extension being added but each to their own and the preference is undoubtedly that the original cottage has been saved and integrated into a new home for the 21st Century

We need to buck the trend. Have seen more diggers destroying old cottages in last 6 months as I did in the past 6 years ☹🙈
