Why: listed buildings come with planning sensitivity and timeline constraints. That often limits mortgage-backed demand, because lenders and timelines don’t always match the reality of heritage projects.
If you’re a cash buyer or specialist and you like complex assets with clear upside, these opportunities can be excellent. If you need a simple, fast purchase with standard lending, it’s usually the wrong lane.
