Well we've now taken off and extracted our gorgeous 2026 spring honey. An especially good year for tree nectar (Hazel, Hawthorn: Chestnut; Sycamore etc), which gives the honey a really deep flavour. Now comes the job of labeling and we're good to go from next saturday. Sign going up over the next few days).

Well our lovely Doonbank Cottage bees have been working so hard over the spring, that they have kindly agreed to share some of their lovely honey with us. We are just extracting and filtering it now, so it won't be long before we can announce our spring sales.

This year's crop is better than ever with some lovely hints of sycamore, chestnut and hawthorn.

Did you know that it takes a single bee its whole life to make just one twelfth of a teaspoon of honey. So when you're enjoying your honey, please thank you to any bees in your garden :)

I know rabbits are common as muck, but I still get lots of enjoyment watching them, even if they are eating the garden plants - and certainly a break from the lunacy of what's happening in Trump's little mind!

Well a lovely, sunny and warm day at Doonbank and the bees, after a long winter are making the most of it. Thank you if you have early flowering bulbs, like crocus and snowdrops as this provides welcome food for the bees.
