This weekend saw the Carve Championship return to Carrbridge — an exciting day filled with incredible skill, creativity and imagination.

The talented carvers had just four hours to transform their blocks of wood into masterpieces, followed by the fast-paced mini half-hour challenge. The judges then selected their winners, while the public had the chance to choose their favourite too.

Sam Bowsher created an incredible fisherman, complete with a fish in the river — a fantastic piece full of detail and character. We also loved the bears and the wonderful Man on the Moon!

Alongside the carving, we enjoyed browsing the local craft stalls and discovering the work of talented artists. Carrbridge did a fantastic job of creating a brilliant atmosphere, finishing the day with a lively ceilidh.

Well done to all the carvers, artists, organisers and everyone involved in making it such a memorable day.

Walk through our cosy contemporary cottage!

Featuring two bedrooms completely separated by the living area. It's ideal for two couples as everyone benefits from privacy. Each bedroom has an ensuite shower room. Our kitchen / diner is very well equipped for self catering. The cosy lounge features two comfortable velvet sofas, a smart tv, reading lamps, books, dvds and games.

The blooming hydrangea even looks stunning in the rain.
It's been a busy changeover day today. We do our best to make sure the cottage is spotlessly clean and a beautiful place to stay. I hope the new guests have a wonderful week!

During peak season in the summer we have a minimum 5 night stay, but are flexible on the start day.

We currently have availability from 4th - 18th September. Minimum stay is 4 nights in low season which, for us, is September through to April inclusively.

Today we took a stroll around the pretty coastal village of Gardenstown, known locally as Gamrie. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch at Bumble and Brae, which we recommend to everyone!
