🌊 Supporting a Great Challenge for a Great Cause 🚁
In the coming days, Air Ambulance NI’s HEMS Clinical Lead Dr Darren Monaghan and HEMS Paramedic James O’Callaghan will take on one of the world’s toughest open-water swims – the North Channel between Northern Ireland and Scotland.
Joining them as part of the relay team are Naomi Beard, Nigel Officer and our very own marketing and brand consultant, Ross Parker.
Darren and James see first-hand the difference this service makes to patients and families across Northern Ireland every day, which makes this challenge all the more meaningful.
We’re proud to support Ross and the entire team as they take on this demanding crossing in aid of such an important cause.
Having somehow managed to fit training around the transformation of our new Main Street and Ballyholme offices, we’re still not entirely sure when Ross found the time to swim — but we’re glad he did! 😄
The team will cover 34.5km (21.4 miles) in open water, facing cold sea temperatures, strong tides, changing conditions and, if recent reports are anything to go by, more than a few jellyfish along the way! 🪼🥶
