Another busy week completed for Floor Screeding Solutions! 👷‍♂️

This week has seen our teams covering plenty of ground across a range of projects.

We’ve had a team grinding self-compacting concrete that had been installed by others but unfortunately was out of level, getting the floor back to where it needs to be.

Over in St Helens, we installed Longfloor liquid screed, ready for one of our bespoke polished overlays in a few weeks’ time. We also completed Cemfloor liquid screed installations at two properties in Rhydymain for a local developer.

Then it was on to Congleton, where our team installed 18m³ of concrete at a bespoke new-build property. The floor was power floated to a high standard, and we’ll be returning in 3–4 weeks to diamond polish it to a mid-sheen finish. We’re looking forward to seeing the finished result.

A great effort from the whole team as always, especially after a couple of weeks of some very long shifts. Time for a well-earned weekend to relax and recharge before we go again Monday morning, installing Tru PC at a wedding venue in Nottingham.

Another varied week doing what we do best. 💪

💪 A very challenging week for our team down in Bath!

Last week saw us complete the final stages of a project for a very valued customer, and it certainly tested us from start to finish.

Over the course of the visit, we:

🔹 Ground 365m² of retail shop floor
🔹 Deep-filled all electrical channels
🔹 Installed 8 tonnes of Weber 4310 fibre base screed
🔹 Followed this with 7 tonnes of Weber 4610 industrial top screed, ready for the specialist final flooring system to be installed

The job was particularly challenging due to the location and the distance between the loading bay and shop floor. Getting 15 tonnes of material, along with all our machinery and equipment, into the working area was a job in itself!

To make things even more interesting, one member of staff was sunning himself in Lanzarote ☀️🍺 while another labourer failed to turn up — meaning what should have been a five-man job was left to just three of us.

Despite being seriously short-handed, through hard work, determination and a fair bit of digging deep, we completed everything on time and to the high standard we expect from ourselves.

I may have lost a few pounds and gained a few more grey hairs along the way… 😂

Thankfully, there was one major bonus — our accommodation had a hot tub, which definitely got put to good use every night! ♨️🍻

A big thank you to Huws Gray Dyffryn Ardudwy for arranging the materials and getting everything delivered on time all the way down to Bath.

But the biggest thanks have to go to Connor McCarthy and Jordan McCarthy. Once again, you both went the extra mile and dug deeper than ever to make sure we got the job over the line. Your hard work and commitment certainly didn’t go unnoticed. 👏

Great effort, lads. Another challenging project completed and another job we can be proud of. 💪

A couple of hard days for our team down in the Big Smoke!

We’ve now fully prepared this awkward and challenging floor, ready to pour a specially designed, eco-friendly concrete mix.

For this project, we developed a bespoke eco-green concrete mix, finished with a personally selected Cotswold integral colour to complement the overall design of the space.

Once poured, the floor was laid to varying depths of between 60mm and 110mm. We then worked the surface using a combination of specialist techniques, closing it as much as possible and achieving the levels and finish required.

We’ll return in 21 days to lightly grind and polish the floor, revealing a beautifully smooth, flat and characterful finish.

The completed floor will form an important part of the overall interior of this new modern bar and restaurant, right in the heart of Waterloo, London.

Carrying out such a specialist installation in Central London comes with plenty of challenges — from access and logistics to working within tight restrictions. But the whole project was completed to the highest standard thanks to the skill, experience and attention to detail of our hardworking team.

Another challenging specialist floor successfully down. Now we wait for the final polish!

A recent local project we’ve just completed.

We supplied and installed the concrete three weeks ago, starting with the placement of basalt mesh before pumping and installing 100mm of concrete, which was then power floated to achieve a smooth, durable finish.

We later returned to grind and polish the surface to a mid-sheen, exposing the large, multi-coloured aggregate and creating a fantastic finish.

Once the polishing works were complete, we applied an impregnating sealer to protect the surface and enhance the finished appearance.

Another great result and a brilliant team effort, as always. 👏

A great team effort once again! 👏

We had a big shift on our ongoing project in Bath, priming and installing 5 tonnes of Weber 4310 screed.

With other trades needing the area ready to continue first thing in the morning, we had a tight window to get everything completed — starting at 5pm and finishing by 11pm. The lads put in a cracking shift and got the job done! 💪

Another busy week wrapped up for Floor Screeding Solutions, with 3 screeding jobs completed! 💪

1️⃣ Job 1 – 2 tonnes of Mapei fibre-reinforced screed installed over a low-profile underfloor heating system.

2️⃣ Job 2 – 7 tonnes of Mapei fibre-reinforced screed laid over low-profile UFH at this stunning new build in Hale Barns. 🏠🔥

3️⃣ Finally, back on home turf in Barmouth – 8m³ of Cemfloor liquid screed installed on a local project, supplied by our good friends at Tudor Griffiths.

Another productive week and three quality installations completed. 👌

We finally got this one over the line — and what a transformation!

This stunning 220m² TRU SL Natural floor was installed for a lovely family in their incredible new-build home in Lincoln.

It’s fair to say this project tested us at times. There were a couple of tears, buckets of sweat and even a few drops of blood along the way! The extreme heat caused a few minor issues, and an unexpected problem with our sealer meant the work took a few days longer than originally planned.

But not every job is plain sailing, and it’s how you deal with the challenges that matters.

A massive thank you to our brilliant team —Jordan Taylor, Connor McGlennon and Jordan McCarthy— for all the head-scratching, hard work and determination to get this one finished to our usual high standards. A big thanks also to shipp from @ Smartfloors UK for jumping on a few video calls, helping us get to the bottom of the issues and finding a solution.

We even managed a visit (or two!) to the world-renowned @ Dambusters Inn to sample some refreshments… although perhaps a few too many were sampled on a couple of occasions! 🍻😂

All in all, this was a challenging project, but seeing the finished floor and the smile on our customer’s face made it all worthwhile.

We’re really looking forward to seeing the final photos once the kitchen is installed and all the decorating is complete.

Another project completed, another happy customer, and plenty learned along the way. 👌

Another great week for the Floor Screeding Solutions team! 💪

✅ A concrete installation and power-float finish completed in Bala. We’ll be back in around three weeks to diamond grind and polish the floor – we can’t wait to show you the finished result.

✅ A concrete pumping job completed for a local builder in Dolgellau.

✅ We then headed over to Lincoln for another Tru SL installation at a stunning new-build property. We first applied an epoxy primer with a quartz scatter, along with rebar cross cuts and anti-crack mesh where required, before installing over 220m² of Tru SL.

We’ve also made a start on the grinding process and will return next week to complete the finishing works, ready for the homeowners to move into their beautiful new home next Friday. Finished photos coming soon!
