🚨 UPDATE ON THE GOOLE CHIMNEY STACK 🚨

Yesterday, we shared photos of a chimney stack that we spotted whilst carrying out a survey on a property in Goole.

The response was incredible.

Many people commented and messaged us expressing genuine concern about the condition of the chimney stack – and rightly so.

The good news?

✅ The situation was acted upon immediately.
✅ The landlord was informed.
✅ The neighbouring property owner was informed.
✅ Scaffolding was erected.
✅ The chimney stack has now been safely removed below roof level.

Once the necessary approvals were in place, our team at HP Property Solutions Ltd got to work.

What looked like a straightforward chimney removal quickly became a precision operation.

As we carefully dismantled the stack, it became clear just how unstable parts of the structure had become. Every tap and every brick removal had to be carried out with extreme care. In places, sections of the chimney wanted to give way far more easily than expected.

The safety of our team, the occupants, neighbouring properties and the surrounding area was our absolute priority throughout the project.

There are times in construction where speed is important.

This wasn’t one of them.

This was a job where experience, patience and doing things properly mattered most.

The chimney stack has now been removed below roof level, the roof has been reconstructed, new roof tiles and ridge tiles installed, all waste materials removed from site and the scaffolding dismantled.

Most importantly…

🏠 The families living in these properties are safe.
🏠 The structures are safe.
🏠 The risk has been removed.

This project perfectly demonstrates the value of a thorough survey.

We weren’t originally called out to inspect the chimney stack.

We spotted it because we believe a survey should look beyond the issue you’ve been asked to inspect.

This customer got in touch with us through Facebook with a simple sketch and a problem.

His dream sofa was on its way…

There was just one issue.

❌ The opening between the rooms was too wide.

The new layout meant the space didn’t work as intended, and the customer wanted a more defined opening that would complement the room and suit the furniture he had chosen.

After discussing the options, taking measurements and talking through different designs, work got underway.

✨ One day later… ✨

The oversized opening was reduced, creating a cleaner, more balanced feature between the two rooms and ensuring the space worked perfectly for the customer’s new sofa and living room layout.
