Birchwood North Devon is the third nature reserve proposed by Habitat First Group, the team behind Lower Mill Estate in The Cotwolds and Silverlake in Dorset. The goal is to create a stunning holiday home community that combines nature, ecology and architecture in perfect harmony and allows families to re-connect with their natural surroundings.

Birchwood is a Biosphere Partner!

The whole of North Devon is now a UNESCO world heritage site, and as a business partner we have pledged to protect the biosphere and help educate visitors about it.

Some of the things we have pledged to do include:
* Implement wildlife-enhancing land management practices / gardening. E.g. install bird nest boxes / bat boxes.
* Protect and promote local knowledge and cultural heritage through providing opportunities for tourists to become involved in and understand local cultural practices or running events that promote local culture.
* Reduce energy and water consumption; produce renewable energy / alternative technologies; reduce waste and increase recycling.
* Engage and trade with as many local businesses as possible that are operating in an environmentally and socially responsible manner.
