Last night was a really special one for us.

We lit the fire pit for the first time and finally got to sit back and experience the new campsite area properly. After weeks of finishing touches, hard work, muddy boots, late nights and plenty of “are we nearly there yet?” moments, we can finally say the campsite is complete.

The horsebox WC and shower are now ready, the fire pit area is in place and we honestly cannot wait to welcome our first guests.

The Burlands has always been a family business. Everything you see here has been created, built, planned or cared for by one of us. From the lodge, shepherd huts and cottage to this new private campsite, it has all grown slowly and naturally from our love for this place.

We are already an established self catering business, but the campsite is something completely new for us. It has only come to life this year and has been finished very recently, so seeing it all come together last night felt very special.

This is not just a campsite to us. It is another little corner of The Burlands where people can slow down, gather around the fire, enjoy the countryside and make proper memories together.

We are so excited to share it with you.

We’re exploring something really special here at The Burlands and we’d love you to be part of it.

Set within our peaceful adults only estate in North Devon, with lakes, open countryside and space to properly switch off, we are looking at bringing more wellness experiences to The Burlands for both guests staying with us and locals who would love to visit for classes and sessions.

We are already in talks around yoga, pilates and floating sound baths, with more ideas being explored too.
