Why is this time of year idea for having quarry and Victorian tile floors restored?
The answer is that the ground under your house is nice and dry at this time of the year. This means that dry times till the tiles can be sealed following the cleaning stage is short, sometimes just 48 hours.
And yes you can 100% use the floor at this stage.
Whereas in the winter, dry times are extended, sometimes in the region of a couple of weeks. As you know, it gets very wet here in Cumbria so the ground under the floor tends to be very damp.
The drying times I talk about is about having the inside of the tiles dry enough that the colour sealers can soak in.
Getting started is really easy. Just send over some basic details and photos of your floor that needs restoring or cleaned.

This quarry tile floor received a safe acid clean with our rotary floor machine. This removed all the builders dust and old screed bits left behind.
Then the tiles were sealed with an impregnating breathable sealer.
What a change.
Topical seals trap moisture. This leads to flaking, blooming and even damage to the tiles. Depending on the water table where you live, if it's high enough then moisture can be pushed into walls.
The topical sealer is removed chemically, the tiles are deep cleaned then a colour enhancing sealer is applied.
Victorian tiles have lasted over 120 years. Treat them right and they will last another century.
This shows the sheer difference that a good deep clean of quarry tiles can make. A high alkaline degreaser from Faber was used.
This Victorian tile entrance is just 1 sqm. The work was carried out by hand at a reasonable cost to a local homeowner here on Walney.
Again a colour boosting sealer was used.
