For the young people we support in Basingstoke, initiatives like this one have the opportunity to make all the difference.

Here in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, the housing crisis for young people is very real.

At the end of January, our CEO Phillipa Spicer, attended the launch of YMCA England & Wales initiative at the House of Commons.

is a movement to help end the youth housing crisis by creating 10,000 new homes for young people. At YMCA Fairthorne Group, we will continue to champion young people, to play our part in tackling housing challenges locally, and to ensure our services continue to deliver meaningful, positive impact across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Today marks World Homeless Day and World Mental Health Day, two causes deeply connected.

At YMCA, we see every day how life’s challenges can feel overwhelming, especially without a safe place to call home.

Today is Youth Mental Health Day 🧠

At YMCA we aim to build a culture where every young person feels heard, supported, and understood.

One way we do this is by providing a mental health support box for young people when they arrive at Fairthorne Group housing.
