The theme this year is โ€˜Do you see me?โ€™ focussing on making sure people with a learning disability are truly seen, heard and valued, in all aspects of daily life.

At Sungate, we understand that autism can be a hidden disability, and a learning disability can be hidden too.

Seasonal sunflowers for check in day today ๐ŸŒป

Our family have the Sensory Corner fully kitted out with the indoor swing, trampoline, whizzy seat, cocoon chair, hula hoops and box of sensory toys to enjoy ๐Ÿคธ๐ŸŽง

June still feels surprisingly chilly, so the underfloor heating is on throughout Sungate, and our child safe fireplace is available to relax beside.

Thereโ€™s also dimmable warm white lighting, lockable cupboards windows and doors, smart TV, DVD player and fast WiFi, fresh towels and bedlinen, and of course our famous millionaire cakes, courtesy of The Great Cake Company ๐Ÿ’™

Lots to enjoy indoors, and outdoors, with our Sensory Courtyard and Sungate app full of autism friendly places to visit in Bath and beyond. This weekend weโ€™ve been reliably informed that the sun is due to make an appearance, in time for our guests to enjoy a visit to nearby Bath City Farm, to take in the wonderful World Hetitage sights with a visit to The Roman Baths (just ยฃ1 entry for low income families), or maybe theyโ€™ll feel the sand under their feet Bath on the Beach ๐ŸŒด which has just opened for the summer โ˜€๏ธ

Summer holidays are fully booked for this year, and our 2027 calendar is now open ๐Ÿ’™

Today is the start of 2026 ๐Ÿ’™

This is Henry, our autistic son, who has high support needs, together with his sister, who is also his carer.

Henry is the inspiration behind Sungate, which has been created with much love and care, from our own family experiences of going on holiday.

We want the whole family to enjoy their stay at Sungate - parent carers, autistic loved ones, and young carer siblings - and are happy to talk to you about any adjustments we can make to ensure your holiday works for all of you.

In addition to all of our unique autism friendly adaptations, our guest family have requested:

- Safe Place bed
- cot bed
- indoor swing
- whizzy spin chair
- trampoline
- crawl tunnel, floor mat and hula hoops
- lockable nappy bin
- large changing mat

We also have our famous millionaire shortbread, fresh seasonal flowers and sensory lavender gift bags as a welcome treat ๐Ÿ’œ

A rainy and - dare we say it - chilly check in day today ๐Ÿ’™

Not a problem at Sungate! We have thermostatically controlled underfloor heating which produces a regulating ambient heat throughout the house, plus plenty of snuggly blankets and throws, a weighted blanket, and our bay window seat and Sensory Corner to sit and watch the rain outside.

This family have brought their dog, and dogs love our underfloor heating too! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ

Sungate is welcoming, whatever the weather, and with our large smart TV, fast WiFi and popcorn maker, itโ€™s a perfect place to enjoy a family movie night in ๐Ÿฟ

Sungate is an autism friendly holiday home in beautiful Bath. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom bungalow (sleeps 5) with a unique range of autism, safety, sensory friendly adaptations we couldnโ€™t find anywhere else when going on holiday with our autistic son.

When you book a stay, we also provide a welcome guide app full of recommendations of autism, family and dog friendly places to visit in the beautiful World Heritage city of Bath so you can plan your holiday.
