www.dawnchorusholidays.com From glamping in a safari-style tent, to a quiet break in one of our enchanting shepherd huts, to the indulgence of a comfortable eco-friendly cottage … your stay with us will be an experience to remember. We hope that you’ll fall in love with Suffolk, just like we did when we moved our family here in 1991. We’re situated in the village of Barsham in the Waveney Valley, not far from the bustling market town of Beccles and the beautiful coastal town of Southwold. On the doorstep we have wonderful walks, bicycle rides, and the Broads National Park. There are lots of opportunities to explore the Broads by hired boat or canoe. Our glamping site is set in its own field on our small working farm, with chickens, sheep, cows, and pigs. The two safari tents and three shepherd huts are all well-spaced and come with their own barbecue. Each self-contained unit is beautifully furnished with a private bathroom and kitchen – ideal for couples, families, or a large group of friends (if you’d like to book the whole site). The South Down shepherd hut and both safari tents are dog friendly, and we also have a selection of outdoor children’s toys.

Carol has given birth to a beautiful heifer calf, the newest addition to our little herd of Herefords here at Dawn Chorus! 🐮

She’s settling in nicely and has certainly got the hang of feeding! We promise to keep you updated with more of Rosie’s adventures as she finds her feet.

Squeezing the last out of summer! ☀️

Oh my, what a summer it’s been! A hot one, but oh so wonderful! We’ve welcomed so many lovely guests to Dawn Chorus during the summer months, some familiar faces and some new, all exploring the beauty of the Suffolk coast and countryside in the sunshine. 🌊🌳

The recent Salmonella outbreak is a reminder of why buying British matters. 🥚

The recent outbreak of salmonella in the UK has been linked to imported eggs, while British eggs, which carry the British Lion mark, provide the confidence that they are fully traceable back to the farm where they were laid, and come from hens vaccinated against Salmonella.

British egg farmers, including our very own Bob, work to the highest food-safety standards, and it’s important to share that not all eggs are equal. We’re extremely proud to sell our lovely eggs in our farm shop, which we confirm are safe to eat!

At Dawn Chorus, our guests can help themselves to fresh complimentary eggs laid by our hens in the campsite, making quality British eggs a part of your authentic rural stay. 🍳
