We are delighted to announce that Paul Hales has successfully passed the ‘RIBA Health and Life Safety’ test.

In addition to completing a minimum of 35 hours CPD (Continuing Professional Development) annually the RIBA is now bringing out a number of mandatory competencies over the coming years. The first in the series, the RIBA Health and Safety Competency will become mandatory for Chartered Members working on projects in England from 2025.

As stated by the RIBA “The test will help members to ensure they are safe on site and able to demonstrate that they are competent to design buildings that are safe to construct, inhabit, use and maintain.”

We are pleased to have obtained Planning Approval and Building Regulation Approval for this project providing a drawings only type service covering stages 1-4 of the RIBA Plan of Work.

This project required significant internal alterations to completely redesign the floor plans with the addition of a garden room extension in order to meet the needs of our client. Through exploring various concept ideas, it was apparent that trying to work with and retain as much of the existing was not producing a satisfactory layout and as such, our client was open to the idea of altering the entire floor plans.

The plan aims to maximise the use of the existing building space to meet the current needs by creating a variety of spaces that allow the occupants to be either separate and have their own space or come together and gather. It was also important to think about the future and possible future generations so that the building can adapt to how people might use it.

A major part of the concept also was to maximise light into the spaces which is particularly important on the ground floor plan which only has openings within one elevation.

Did you know we can also make copies or scans of large or wide format documents up to A0?

While it’s not what we do, we do occasionally get contacted by people looking to copy or scan a large document where local reprographic providers have not been able to do so. So if you have something that you would like copied or scanned please get in contact and we will try and help.

Please note that we can only print onto standard uncoated white paper and you must have a legal right to copy the document.
