Large lounge in Bangor decorated this week. 🎨 Full breakdown on what actually needs doing (in my opinion)

Day one and most of day two were spent stripping the paper from the ceilings and walls. A full sand of all walls and ceilings was then carried out, followed by the first fill to countless holes and imperfections.

Large cracks were raked out and decorators’ scrim was adhered over them before filling, helping to prevent them from coming back.

Day 3 was spent sanding the previous day’s filler, followed by a second fill to smooth everything out. It was then back on the sander with a 240-grit mesh pad.
All wall and ceiling joints were caulked to close up any gaps, getting everything ready for a full coat of Zinsser Gardz to seal the ceilings and walls.

Day 4 was another sanding day, this time concentrating on the woodwork. This was followed by caulking and, once dry, Johnstone’s Aqua Guard Undercoat/Primer.
The woodwork was then finished with 2 top coats of Johnstone’s Aqua Guard Durable Satin.
All of this was carried out alongside 3 top coats to the ceilings.

Day 5 was all about getting the walls finished, along with any last little bits of filling that had been missed.

A massive thank you to Tasha and Nick for putting up with the mess, allowing me to leave everything set up overnight, and for all the tea! ☕😂
That’s another one finished. Back in a week to start the hall, stairs and landing. 😁

lounge/Bedroom refresh in Tregarth. A return to this property that had the external carried out last year.

Ceilings were raked out, filled and sanded prior to being primed and coated in a brilliant white Matt.

3 x walls where prepared as above then give 2 X coats of white whisky the 2 alcoves had colour added and the breast papered.

Bedroom was prepared and give 2 coats of brilliant white flat matt.

Large Kitchen Diner, hallway, utility room, W/C and main bathroom ceiling redecoration carried out in Bethesda.

All walls and ceilings had cracks raked out and filled with some of the more problematic ones repaired with the glass fabric company's scrim to hold the repair. Once all was filled the ceilings where given a coat of brilliant white flat Matt but the huge kitchen diner ceiling was given coats of the Johnstone's ultra flat Matt which eliminates flashing on larger light critical ceilings.

All walls where 2 coated in the Crown Clean extreme scrubable Matt in "Silver Maple"

All skirts door frames and sills where sanded back primed with the Johnstone's Aqua guard primer followed by top coats of the Johnstone's Aqua guard in a satin finish leaving the whole job being able to be scrubbed down if any future marks arise.

Exterior completed in Bethesda.

Unpainted dash was readied for 2 x coats of spray and back roll on sandtex brilliant white. Made the windows pop out lovely.

Huge Hall, stairs & Landing redecorated in Tregarth.

Really enjoyed this one. Walls had extensive and deep cracking in places so these where raked out given a coat of peel stop then taped over with the glass fabric company's decorators scrim tape. This was then 1st filled sanded then given a wider fill to blend into the wall with toupret filler. All was when ready where given 2 X coats of Valspar premium in the colour Nutmeg Dust.

Ceilings where prepared where required and coated up in a brilliant white flat Matt.

12 doors and frames along with the skirtings and loft hatch where all sanded and caulked up ready for the Johnstone's undercoating primer followed by being coated up in the Johnstone's Aqua guard durable in a satin finish.

2 radiators where prepared then sprayed with a radiator specific paint in a rattle can.

Massive thank you to Avril and Gareth for having the place ready for me and all the tea and biscuits it's been a pleasure.
