Congratulations to the winners and runners up at the 2025 Christmas Tree Festival. What a spectacular event it was. There were so many new community groups involved this year, with the winners of both the Schools and Best Tree in the Festival categories - entering for the first time. We saw record numbers of people at the Minster which also means that many more visitors got to enjoy this amazing community experience than ever before. Happy Christmas everyone.

Keldmarsh Primary School is delighted to be taking part in this year’s Beverley Minster Christmas Tree Festival.

Their tree has been inspired by two remarkable scientists who feature in the science curriculum - Sir David Attenborough and Dr Jane Goodall. Their passion for nature, wildlife and the planet has guided the school's theme, and their pupils have risen to the challenge beautifully.

Children in Years 3 and 4 have worked hard to create all the decorations, each one celebrating the natural world and the importance of caring for it. From colourful creatures to thoughtful designs, every decoration is the work of our talented young scientists-in-the-making.

The festival is open until Sunday 14th December. There is late night opening on Thursday 12th with last entry at 7pm.

This year's Festive Workshops at the Minster have produced some spectacular results. Many thanks to Sue and her team from the Beverley Flower Club for leading these sessions and to the HEY Volunteering ladies who have supported everyone during each workshop. Also an extra thank you to Beaver Borders for the donation of extra greenery to add some special flourishes to the mantlepiece decorations.

There are also a few for sale at the Christmas Tree Festival reception. But they won't be around for long. And there will be a few more after the final two workshops next Friday. These mantlepiece decs also work for your festive hearth or your table. They cost £20.

At Beverley Fitmums and Friends, they love a homemade theme - so this year they decided to take it to the next level. Instead of crafting decorations… they’ve been crafting themselves!

Yes, really. They’re all making little pipe cleaner versions of themselves for their tree at the Beverley Minster Christmas Tree Festival.

Their sessions have been a hive of activity, with everyone busy twisting, shaping and personalising their tiny Fitmums characters. The creativity (and the giggles!) have been brilliant, they tell us. 🙂

Here’s a sneak peek at a couple of their pipe-cleaner people in action - and you’ll be able to spot the full Fitmums crowd on their tree at the festival.

Come and find them… they promise they’re even more fun in pipe-cleaner form.

The Christmas Tree Festival opens tomorrow (Friday 5th December) and runs until Sunday 14th December.

The Hull & East Riding Parkinson’s Branch is taking part again this year’s Christmas Tree Festival with a powerful theme for 2025: HANDS ACROSS THE COMMUNITY - a reminder that no one should face Parkinson’s alone (last year's tree is pictured).

Members have been hard at work creating Hands of Hope by knitting colourful mittens, all of which will be proudly displayed on the tree. Every decoration has been lovingly handmade by people within the branch, each one carrying its own message of support and solidarity.

For visitors to the festival who'd like to know more about Parkinson’s, leaflets will be available under the tree.

A thoughtful and meaningful addition to the Beverley Minster Christmas Tree Festival which opens tomorrow and runs until Sunday 14th December.

The Minster has been a hive of activity today as trees have been lopped, shaped and shifted into position, ready for decorating tomorrow (Thursday 4th December). While all our local charities, community groups, businesses and schools come together to create their own unique looks, there will be limited access to the public on Decorator's Day. Please bear with us while all the trees get dressed to look their best for the opening day of the 2025 Christmas Tree Festival on Friday 5th December. Doors open at 10am. We can't wait!

Beverley and District Art Club is back at the Beverley Minster Christmas Tree Festival - and this year feels extra special, as it’s their first time taking part as residents of Oldroyd’s Community Garden.

Since moving into their new Art Room in April, the club now has a dedicated creative space and its own exhibition area, all set within a truly magical garden under glass. It’s become a place where creativity, community and nature blend beautifully.

Their 2025 tree is a true collaboration, created by three groups who share the garden: the Art Club’s artists, the dedicated garden volunteers and the talented Men in Sheds. Together, they’ve designed a tree that celebrates what each group contributes - and reflects the unique, peaceful setting they’re proud to call home.

Oldroyd’s Community Garden is open to the public throughout the year (with a short winter break for essential work), and you can find it by walking through Woodmansey Garden Centre to the back of the store.

They can’t wait for festival visitors to see their collaborative creation shining inside the Minster.
