Not much margin for error on this one.

This ash tree at a Birmingham school was affected by dieback and had a heavy lean over a neighbouring outbuilding, so a standard dismantle wasn’t suitable.

With overhead lines and no safe drop zone, we opted for a crane-assisted removal to keep everything controlled and safe.

Completed during the school holidays to reduce disruption and ensure the site was ready for reopening.

A good example of having the right setup and support for more complex work.

🚜 Handling larger timber safely and efficiently.

Using the articulated loader with a timber grab allows us to lift and position heavy sections while they’re processed on site, reducing manual handling and keeping the work area organised.

Once cut to size, the sections can then be quickly loaded and removed.

Good equipment makes a big difference on jobs like this.

🌳 Controlled tree removal in Birmingham

The crown of this oak was removed first before the remaining stem was felled.

Because the tree leaned toward a neighbouring property, we used a pulley system and an articulated Avant loader to guide the fall safely in the intended direction.

Using equipment like this helps keep the operation controlled when working close to buildings.

🌳 Controlled tree removal completed.

This evergreen was showing signs of decline and presenting an increased risk of failure. The crown was rigged out first, before the remaining stem was dismantled using climbing spikes and a work positioning lanyard to allow controlled, progressive removal.

Careful sequencing and clear coordination between climber and ground crew ensured the works were completed safely and the site left clear.

🌳 Forest school restoration project completed.

We worked with a Birmingham school to assess and improve a neglected outdoor learning area — with all works carried out during half term to minimise disruption and risk.

After completing a full QTRA tree risk assessment (with written report), we removed only the trees presenting unacceptable risk and carefully pruned others.

Native trees were retained, woodchip recycled back into pathways, and log piles left to support wildlife.

A safer, usable space ready for the next stage.

🌳 City-centre tree works completed

We recently carried out a multiple tree dismantle for a large property management company in Birmingham city centre.

Working close to surrounding buildings required controlled sectional dismantling and careful coordination between climbers and ground crew to ensure the site remained safe throughout.

All tree waste was chipped and recycled at local allotments to reduce unnecessary travel and minimise environmental impact. The works were completed efficiently, with the site left clear and secure.

🌳 Emergency tree work

This Sycamore tree dismantle was carried out at a local school during the half-term break, after storm damage left the tree unsafe in its location.

We safely removed the tree and tidied up the site, all without disrupting the school.
