We are excited to share the news that our proposed development of Kingsway, Kings Heath includes a brand new 2-screen cinema, housed behind the fully-restored original neo-classical facade. The scheme would also include restaurant or retail space and then 49 apartments and an undercroft 25 space car park at the rear of the site solely for the apartments. The existing 20 space surface pay and display car park at the front would be replaced by a "market square", a perfect place for events and it would also re-connect the building with the High Street for pedestrians. We are excited to announce that there will be a public consultation regarding our proposals for the future development of the Kingsway. More details will follow early next week, but for now please make a note of the date, time and venue. The public consultation will be held at New Life Baptist Church, High Street, Kings Heath on Thursday 14th July from 4pm until 7.30pm. We look forward to seeing you there!

Hi everyone,

It's been a long time since we posted an update on our progress with the Kingsway site. We're still hard at work liaising with the neighbourhood planning team, and have been hugely grateful for the members of the community who have been part of our consultation process. Your input has been vital to help us formalise and shape our plans for a building that will serve and inspire our community.

As we eagerly await moving onto the next stage of the development, we've got some exciting news that the Kingsway will be reopening its doors - and sooner than you might think!

We'd like to announce that the site will be playing host to a programme of locally-organised pop-up events.

The first being a huge nod to the cinema's former glory. Friendly Neighbourhood Cinema will be taking over the Kingsway site with a 'pandemic proof' open air cinema. Before we started demolition, one of the team decided to do a walk through video of the inside of the building to try and show the sheer scale of the site. To say it was quite spooky is an understatement....
