🎨 May 2026 Interior Colour Trends 🏡 Thinking about refreshing your home this spring? These are the interior colour directions shaping homes in 2026:

1. Soft warm whites
Clean whites are still relevant, but the mood has shifted towards softer, warmer tones. Pantone’s 2026 Colour of the Year, Cloud Dancer, reflects that move towards calm, gentle neutrals that make interiors feel lighter and more settled.

2. Soulful blues
Blue is a major story for 2026. Dulux has centred its 2026 forecast around a family of indigo-based blues, including Free Groove™, Mellow Flow™ and Slow Swing™, bringing depth, balance and a more grounded feel to interiors.

3. Earthy browns and caramel tones
Warm browns, clay shades and caramel-inspired neutrals are continuing strongly into 2026. These colours add comfort, warmth and a sense of permanence, which is why they are showing up more in living spaces and bedrooms.

4. Rich greens
Greens remain strong, but the cooler tones are giving way to warmer, more herbal shades such as moss, eucalyptus and laurel. These colours help bring a more natural, grounded atmosphere into the home.

5. Burgundy, honey and muted yellow accents
2026 is also seeing more confidence with colour. Little Greene’s 2026 forecast points to burgundy, warm honey tones, muted yellows, deeper caramel hues, and warmer reds and pinks becoming more popular in the home.

Whether you are updating your current home or looking for a new property, colour plays a big part in how a space feels day to day.

Creating a calmer home often comes down to a few simple choices.

Soft, neutral colours can help a room feel more settled. Natural light makes a big difference, so keeping windows clear and using lighter fabrics can help a space feel brighter and more open. Storage also matters. When everyday items have a place, rooms tend to feel less busy and easier to switch off in.

Texture can play a part too. Wood, linen, cotton and other natural materials often help a space feel warmer and more balanced. Adding a few plants or keeping décor more considered and uncluttered can also make a room feel calmer day to day.

At MIA Property, the feel of a space matters as much as its function. Homes tend to work best when they support everyday comfort, clarity and ease of living.

The Spring Bank Holiday gives people a chance to pause and think about what they want next from where they live.

For some, that means more space. For others, better access, a stronger location or a home that fits daily life more naturally.

In property, those decisions are shaped by more than the building itself. The surrounding streets, local amenities, ease of travel and overall feel of an area all help define whether a place works in practice.

At MIA Property, that broader view matters. If the long weekend has you thinking about your next move or your next property opportunity, get in touch with our team.

Spring cleaning can be a good reset for the home. Small changes can bring about transformations...

A few simple changes can make a space feel lighter, calmer and easier to live in. Clear out anything you no longer use. Open windows to bring in fresh air. Make the most of natural light. Reorganise storage so everyday items are easier to reach. Even small steps can help a home feel more functional and more settled.

At MIA Property, everyday liveability matters. The way a space works, feels and supports daily routines is part of what helps a property work well in practice.

World Bee Day is a reminder that eco-aware development starts with paying attention to the wider environment, not just the buildings themselves.

Bees play a vital role in supporting biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, which makes green space an important part of how a development is planned and experienced. Thoughtful planting, pollinator-friendly landscaping and well-considered outdoor areas can all help a scheme sit more responsibly within its surroundings.

For property developers, that matters. A development does not exist in isolation. It becomes part of a wider landscape, and the way that space is shaped can contribute to both environmental value and everyday quality of place.

At MIA Property, the setting around a development matters. The landscape, the green space and the relationship with the surrounding area all help shape places that feel considered, responsible and better connected to where they belong.

As Mental Health Awareness Week comes to a close, it is worth reflecting on the role property plays in everyday wellbeing.

The places people live in can shape how settled, connected and supported they feel over time. Access to light, outdoor space, practical layouts and a strong sense of place all contribute to how a home functions day to day, not just how it looks on paper.

At MIA Property, we keep that wider view in mind. Good development should create spaces that work well for real life and sit well within the area around them, supporting both ease of living and a stronger sense of belonging.

Mental Health Awareness Week is a good prompt to think about the spaces we spend most of our time in. Home should be somewhere that helps you reset, think clearly and feel more settled, even in small ways.

Simple changes can make a difference. Let in as much natural light as possible. Keep one area clear and uncluttered. Add plants or greenery where you can. Use softer lighting in the evening. Open windows for fresh air. Create a corner for reading, resting or switching off from screens. Even small adjustments can help a space feel more supportive day to day.

At MIA Property, we know people do not just respond to square footage or finish. They respond to how a place feels to live in and whether it supports everyday wellbeing in a practical, lasting way.

Mental Health Awareness Week is a reminder that where people live can shape how they feel day to day.

Natural light, access to green space, walkable surroundings and a sense of connection to the wider area all play a part in making a place feel calmer, more supportive and easier to live in.

At MIA Property, that broader sense of place matters. We look at how development supports everyday life through access, environment and the practical details that help a location work well.

Good development should always think beyond the boundary line.

No Mow May is a useful reminder that the spaces around homes matter too.

For property developers, green space is not just about appearance. It plays a part in how a place feels, how people use it, and how well it supports biodiversity alongside everyday living.

Thoughtful landscaping can help developments sit more naturally within their surroundings, while also creating areas that feel calmer, softer and better connected to the wider environment.

At MIA Property, good development is about how a place works as a whole, including the outdoor spaces that shape people’s experience of it.
