A positive start to the New Year as this refurbishment scheme gets underway in Doncaster.

IGL have supported Progress Housing Association from initial survey, through feasibility and design options, right through to a detailed tender with now on site.

This large property is being carefully adapted to provide generous, modern living space with shared outdoor areas, tailored for its future residents.

As with most refurbishments, strip-out has already revealed some unexpected works and as always, we’ll continue to support the Employer to manage risk, control costs, and keep the project as close to target as possible.

Meet Ian Dootson, one of the two directors of IGL Surveying Ltd.

Ian has been part of IGL since 1996, stepping into company management in 2003. With decades of experience and deep knowledge of the business, he was the natural choice to carry the company forward when the founders decided to retire. Recognising the importance of strong leadership, Ian partnered with Rob Baines to form a long-term vision focused on preserving — and enhancing — the IGL legacy.

Rob joined IGL back in 2012 as a graduate, developing his expertise under the guidance of the company’s founders. In 2022, as they stepped toward retirement, Rob took the reins alongside Ian Dootson, continuing the legacy they helped build.

Together, Ian and Rob are committed to delivering the high standards of service and professionalism IGL is known for — and then raising the bar even further.

IGL have exciting news!

We are pleased to announce that Ian Dootson MRICS BSc (Hons) and Robert Baines MRICS BSc (Hons) have taken over IGL from Brent and Robert from the 6th April 2022.

Brent and Robert together with John Lynn set up IGL in 1992. Having established IGL as a highly professional surveying and consultancy practice within the Northwest for 30 years, they have taken the decision to make their first steps towards retirement. Brent and Robert will continue to be involved with IGL on a consultancy basis following this change of ownership.

As Ian and Rob have worked for IGL for many years, they are ideally placed to maintain the reputation and standing that Brent & Robert have established over the last 30 years. Ian and Rob look forward to providing the same level of service that IGL has been able to provide in the past, whilst strengthening relationships with existing clients and establishing ourselves with new prospective clients.

IGL have also relocated to a new office in Blackburn at the beginning of April 2022. Although we have changed our office location, we will continue to provide our full range of services to all our clients both within Greater Manchester and throughout the Northwest.
