We have done the walk so many times, but it changes with every season. And it is magical every time.

Parking is at Glenmore visitor centre (which has toilets and cafe).
It’s a fairly straightforward walk from there, but we would encourage you to extend your walk past Lochan Uaine and to the Bothy.

This is a family-friendly walk and suitable for various levels of ability.

Aviemore is a very easy place to explore on two wheels. 🚲

You’ll find routes for relaxed family rides, as well as proper mountain biking, with bike hire available locally if bringing your own isn’t practical.

Around the area, you can take on forest trails, try the purpose-built Cairngorm Mountain Bike Park or explore one of the circular routes through Rothiemurchus. Guided rides and coaching are available too if you’d rather head out with someone who knows the area.

Our beautiful property that sleeps up to 15 across 4 bedrooms.
With a hot tub, sauna and fire pit, this property is perfect for longer stays, and located in Boat of Garten - where you can explore all the things that the Cairngorms have to offer.
We are also dog friendly, with an enclosed space, and a play area for children.

There are so many stunning lochs and walks in the cairngorms, and this is definitely one of our favourites. You can paddle board, kayak, swim and there is a lovely loop around this loch too.

Aviemore is a wonderful place for family holidays and our lodges are also dog friendly.

The resort sits around 11 miles from Aviemore and has more than 30km of pisted runs, along with freestyle terrain and equipment rental on site.

There are options for skiers and snowboarders with different levels of experience, and lessons are available for anyone who needs a little help getting started. 🙌

Here at Big Husky Lodge, we believe bringing the dog on holiday shouldn’t mean compromising on the accommodation. 🐾

That's why our lodge welcomes well-behaved pets, so they can come along for the Highland adventure too.

With a large gated garden, plenty of space inside and the Cairngorms on the doorstep, there’s lots to enjoy before heading back to the lodge for a relaxed evening with the rest of the group.

Snow leopards, wildcats, monkeys and Scotland’s only polar bears all make for a fairly memorable day out. 🐾

Highland Wildlife Park, run by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, is also involved in conservation and research both here in Scotland and further afield.

That includes work to help reverse the decline of vulnerable species, so there’s a lot more to discover during a visit than just seeing the animals.
