Happy World Town Planning Day 2023!
At Atlas, our vision is to create vibrant, multi-use, and sustainable environments in every sense - environmentally, economically, and socially.
How do we make this vision a reality? Our contribution lies in ensuring excellent design and finding imaginative solutions to complex situations. We believe that careful planning can prevent spaces from becoming, or continuing to be, vacant or underutilised, ensuring that every piece of land or building serves a purpose, whether that be addressing the housing crisis, supporting farmers through diversifying or promoting health and wellbeing.
We're passionate about bringing prominent disused buildings in city centres back into use. We believe these buildings are the historical and architectural soul of our cities, and their revitalisation can breathe new life into urban spaces, now more than ever they need our help.
We're incredibly proud of our recent pro bono work for "Caring in Bristol," where we've been tackling homelessness in the Bristol area. This initiative is a testament to our commitment to creating inclusive, compassionate communities.
We've had the pleasure to be involved in some remarkable projects that promote social sustainability and cultural diversity. We've collaborated with community centres, meeting halls, mosques, and churches that celebrate the rich multicultural diversity within our cities.
Another recent project, a sustainable house in the South Downs National Park, is a testament to our commitment to sustainability. This project boasts an impressive 79% CO2 saving beyond building regulations and an 18% biodiversity net gain, almost double the incoming target.
This World Town Planning Day, we invite you to join us in creating the cities and communities we all dream of - vibrant, sustainable, and full of life. Share your thoughts, ideas, and aspirations for the cities of the future!
