The kitchen was the main focus with full rip out, re-skim, floor levelled and tiled and kitchen installed. All surfaces pressure washed, treated with fungicidal wash and two coats of Dulux Trade Weathershield applied.

A job for a repeat customer in St Merryn during the first summer heatwave! 🥵🥵

JOB: Drop two chimneys and rebuild.

The main chimney stack was listing and in general poor state of repair (second rebuild approx. Victorian era so lasted well!).

Single gable end chimney (also Victorian) was unsafe and suffering slippage due to poor underlying masonry condition.

Both were dismantled back to below roof level, new pads formed and re built using like for like bricks. New flaunching and lead work

Bathroom refit for customer who required a walk in shower with seat and grab rails.

- Door moved over to accommodate wider shower.
- Soil stack breather reduced and AAV installed.
- New sink and toilet installed with bespoke cabinetry/boxing in.
- 6mm ply floor laid over existing boards and Lino installed.
- Renewed electrical circuits to current regs

A nice job completed for a neighbour in the village.

Bedroom renovation in Withiel.

- Dropped existing fibreboard ceiling, insulated, re-boarded and skimmed.
- Removal of old picture rail and remedial wall filling/skimming.
- Removal of old shelving/storage and re-install with modern MDF.
- Installation of IKEA wall units all boxed in and framed with cornicing/pelmets
- Hanging of new Howdens door
- Full re-decoration

We’ve been busy over the darker, shorter winter months post Christmas, with some indoor work (which can be much appreciated at times!).

Full rip out and remedial works to a drawing room in a stunning property in St Merryn before the carpenters came in to install full height paneling.

Job included:
- Full Rip Out back to original stone (old lime and cob render was blowing in places)
- Batten work and moisture protection over stone in preparation for over boarding
- Raking out and re-pointing fireplace
- Digging out fireplace, resetting a new concrete base and resetting new slate hearth.
- Overboarding battens as base
- Resetting damaged lime cornice

Composite Decking and Venetian Panelling.

What a transformation! We were asked to make the back of this townhouse in St Columb more usable from its existing state.

Next door’s extension was exposed block work and looked unsightly so decided to batten and clad with treated PSE redwood (also called Venetian slats)

We then had to remove a large Ash tree stump to accommodate decking. Once removed - we installed a decking sub frame and then decked over the top with CladCo Composite decking (Stone Grey).

A complete transformation of the space and the client is thrilled that they now have somewhere to sit in the sun (if it ever decides to make an appearance!)

We’ve been busy with the outdoor work over the last few months whilst the sun finally decided to make an appearance!

This was some pictures of a job in St Austell. The client wanted the back of her bungalow transformed on a budget. We ended up going for 50:50 19mm Indian sandstone slabs and 20mm granite gravel over the old patio.
We also installed a concrete shed base for a 6x5 metal shed.
All tied in and finished with square edging stones.

Nice job completed for a customer near St Columb this week in the lovely sunshine (for a change!). Clients request was to extend existing toilet out to accommodate a shower unit and construct a stud wall across the existing commercial space to provide a division to allow out of shop hours access to toilet/shower.

Original 1950’s fireplace removed and widened to allow for a larger, modern bespoke multi media unit to house TV and sound bar above and a wood burner below.

Fireplaced removed and existing opening widened with new lintel installed. Jams re-bricked and re-pointed.

HETAS regs were constantly referred to ensuring full Building Regs compliance:

Features include:

- Metal stud work construction.
- STS Construction fibre cement board around wood burner and Fireproof plasterboard on stud work.
- All recommend distances adhered to for the wood burner
- Beautiful, large, single piece of Brazilian Graphite 40mm slate used as hearth.
