As we have Poppy Cottage on the market, we are releasing dates a month at a time to cottages com so that we can sell it as vacant. We are about to release August and September but thought I'd offer them first on here if anyone is looking at visiting!!

Poppy cottage will shortly be coming on the market either as a continuing successful holiday home or as a private house. We have owned the cottage for many years and run it as a very profitable holiday cottage for the last 7 years. We have had very high percentage bookings and a well above average return. The time has come to move to the next stage of our lives and the cottage is offered with no chain for private use or with existing bookings if running as a holiday cottage. I love daffodils. These guys are refusing to give in to the weird and wonderful weather we've had at Poppy this week! We've been busy painting, gardening, sorting and cleaning ready for reopening on Monday 12th. Never enough hours in the day when you've got a deadline!

Well.... here we go again! We may not agree with the tiers we've been allocated, or like the restrictions we've been placed under - but nothing we can do about it. So rather than get grumpy and ranty we've decided to take the opportunity to have a bit of a break (except we can't go anywhere 😄) and do some much needed garden clearing as things got away from us this summer when we were closed. We all just have to cling onto the hope that things will improve in 2021... ready for 2020 to be gone now.... Stay safe everyone and see you soon.

Poppy cottage has signed up to "Safer Stays" principles for bookings. To be honest, apart from the removal of 'unnecessary' contact items such as books, cushions etc and our need to wear PPE when cleaning things will stay pretty much the same. We look forward to welcoming people back to Poppy! Lets get back to some form of normality.

Well... what a year! With Poppy Cottage being shut since March and us being in isolation to keep Yvette safe things have all been very surreal. However there does now appear to be a very small c***k of light at the end of the tunnel. Bookings are being taken from 3 July so if anyone fancies a cheeky break before furlough finishes let us know! We have done a full risk assessment and we are putting in measures to ensure we keep you and ourselves safe.

Difficult times for everyone. All our bookings going forward have been cancelled or postponed - and we are normally quite literally back to back. We are just hoping that when the green light for travel comes we will get our lovely customers back again! Poppy will be ready when you are! Lets hope the govt recognise self employed cottage owners as someone worth helping in this crisis!

Did you see Rob Bells' Walking Britain's Railways on Channel 5 this weekend? Fabulous programme starting with Peak Rail heritage steam line, and continuing up the line on the trail to Buxton. Definitely worth a catch up if you missed it!

The garden at Poppy from 9 years ago when we first moved in... recent visitors will know it now looks like a jungle!!! Far easier to look after though on 3 hour changeovers!
