International Day of Charity ❤️
Today is International Day of Charity, and it’s a great opportunity to reflect on the many ways we’re proud to support charities, community organisations and good causes throughout the year.
At Britannia Leatherbarrows, we believe that being part of the local community means giving something back wherever we can. From donating our time and resources to supporting the amazing work of charities across Dorset and beyond, we’re proud to play our part.
Here are just some of the ways we support good causes:
📦 Rotary Shoebox Appeal – We provide free storage to help support the Rotary Shoebox Appeal, storing the boxes safely before they reach those who need them.
🎭 Poole Lighthouse Charity – We’re proud to be business supporters of Poole Lighthouse Charity and the fantastic work they do within our community.
🚑 Mudeford Lifeboat Funday – We support the Mudeford Lifeboat Funday, including sponsoring the Park & Ride service to help make this brilliant community event possible.
❤️ British Heart Foundation – We provide vehicles to transport swimmers’ luggage from pier to pier during the Bournemouth charity swim, supporting this fantastic fundraising event.
🚨 Search & Rescue – Our General Manager, Richard, also gives his own time volunteering for a Search & Rescue charity, helping others when they need it most.
💙 Blue Light Card – We’re pleased to offer 10% off our services to Blue Light Card holders as a small thank you to those who dedicate their working lives to helping others.
🏫 YMCA Sleep Easy – We have donated boxes for the YMCA Sleep Easy events, where schools build shelters as part of their fundraising efforts and raise awareness of homelessness.
🌳 Just One Tree – For every move we complete, we plant a tree, helping to make a positive environmental difference one move at a time.
💚 Lewis-Manning Hospicecare – We have a collection point at our premises for donated goods, helping people who are downsizing to pass on unwanted items and support this wonderful local charity.
We’re incredibly proud of the difference these partnerships, donations and acts of support can make. Charity isn’t just about making a donation – it’s about giving your time, resources, expertise and support to help others.
