Herdwicks take centre stage in Eskdale 🐑.

For one Saturday every September, the valley fills with prize sheep, hound trails streaming down the fellside, wrestlers grappling in the ring and vintage tractors polished to a shine. The Eskdale Show has been doing this since 1866, and it's still the best seat in the house for a slice of Lakeland tradition.

Stay nearby on 26th September, then spend the evening somewhere quiet with the fells turning gold outside the window.
