Brookwood Holiday Cottage, Lake District 4 Star Self Catering Holiday Cottage located in Bowness-on-Windermere in the heart of the Lake Distr It is maintained, equipped and cleaned to high standard.

Brookwood, built in 1904, is one half of a substantial Edwardian property; which has been lovingly and sympathetically renovated by the owner, who lives next door. The house retains many of the period features, with high ceilings, large and very spacious rooms and sash windows. It is ideally situated at the corner of a quiet residential private drive, with Lake Windermere and town centre within ea

sy walking distance. Guests will appreciate its central, yet quiet location. The Dales Way begins a few hundred yards away at the top of the road; with the view points of Post Knott, Brantfell and Biskey Howe all within easy walking distance. With the lakeshore of Windermere so close, there is always something to do - walking along the lakeside, enjoying panoramic views of the lake and mountains, experiencing a whole host of water-based activities, travel around the area by steamer or open-top bus or discovering the lake for yourself by hiring a rowing boat. Cross lake ferries are available to take the visitor to Beatrix Potter country.

"Tommy Brock was a short bristly fat waddling person with a grin; he grinned all over his face. He was not nice in his habits. He ate wasp nests and frogs and worms; and he waddled about by moonlight, digging things up."

The Attraction is open today from 10am to 5.30pm and you can meet all of Beatrix Potter's characters - including the disagreeable ones! Tickets are also available for our brand new theatre show Happy Birthday Peter Rabbit and you might just see Mr Brock himself!
