Temperatures are expected to reach the mid-30s across parts of the UK this week, making it important to take extra care during the hot weather. ☀️

Carrying water, closing blinds and curtains during the day, planning activities for cooler times, and taking regular breaks can all help you stay comfortable. It's also a good idea to check in on older neighbours, friends or family members who may be more affected by the heat.

We've pulled together practical advice to help you stay safe and keep cool at home, at work and on the move.

🎉 Congratulations to Habinteg tenants Nicola and Sam, who have been named finalists in the Housing Heroes Awards 2026.

Nicola and Sam earned their place in the Best Company Health and Wellbeing Initiative category after creating the peer support group 'Women in Mind' to help fellow tenants talk openly about mental health, share experiences and support one another.

The winners will be announced on Monday evening, and we wish Nicola and Sam the very best of luck. 👏

📣 Four in 10 (41%) of all new homes being planned over the next 10 years will not be accessible, according to our recent research.

That means that just over 40% of new homes being planned will feature accessibility barriers for older or disabled people. Think this is fair?

A lack of accessible homes affects everyone, from downsizers and young families using prams and pushchairs to older and disabled people. We need all new homes to be fit for purpose and future-ready and that means ones that are accessible to everyone.
