As some may know, I love working on chimneys, maybe it’s because I get to watch the sunrise every morning, or just because I enjoy being high up, but it’s a real treat either way.
And this chimney was in a poor state, missing a pot, I could take it apart without the need for a hammer and chisel and some bricks were in a bad way. So I took it down and with a lil lovin’ and tlc put it back together again with salvaged bricks, a salvaged pot and now it’s ready to rock for another 150 years🧱

I recently had the pleasure of being part of a short documentary as part of Wentworth Woodhouse’s film festival. All about heritage crafts and getting more young people involved in the craft.
I was a very different experience but really enjoyed it! Louise, the Wonder Woman who reached out to get me involved and created the documentary, was great to work with and she’s done a really nice job!
Even had the joy of going back to college and getting to film with my first mentor, my college tutor Ian, who along side my parents was another great support in my bricklaying journey, and to this day, still continues to guide and educate me.

Today I wrote my first blog post! I’ve been contemplating doing a blog for a few years, and even more so recently after completing the SPAB Fellowship and learning loads about old buildings.
The blog is about historic buildings, things I have learned and topics like to debate! With the comments section always open it’s a nice way to interact about a topic that is so interesting!
