Work is underway on Darley Street and North Parade in the ‘top of town’ as part of Bradford Council’s ongoing programme to transform public spaces and streets in the city centre.
This includes the creation of a new cycle lane on Darley St, with both streets also benefitting from new pedestrian crossings, parking bays, bike racks, benches, litter bins and paving, linking the area more seamlessly to other traffic free parts of the city centre.
Supported by Active Travel England's Active Travel Fund through the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, this builds on Bradford’s competed, and now multi-award-winning, pedestrianization programme.
City Village will continue to improve the public spaces around the top of town, opening up historic routes across the neighbourhood and new green spaces including the new Darley Park, alongside pedestrian and cycle paths linking the new community with the city centre.
