BANK OF ENGLAND RAISED INTEREST RATES AND WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR HOUSING MARKET?

Despite the rapid spread of the coronavirus Omicron variant. The Bank of England has unexpectedly increased interests rate from 0.1% to 0.25%.
The increase will add to financial pressure on households with variable-rate mortgages. This came as surprise for investors when markets least expected.
Official figures showed inflation hit 5.1% in November amid soaring energy prices and global supply chain bottlenecks, hitting a rate the Bank hadn’t expected to be reached until the spring. The MPC has an official inflation target of 2%. The Bank now expects the CPI inflation rate to hit 6% next April, when the cap on energy bills is lifted, which is triple its target.

Our Director Haseeb Arslan has shared his opinion:

No Stamp duty and low interest rates were the reason buying was increased regardless of the increase in prices. But market has slowed down already, which people may not realise so this increase in intrest rate may further push back the investors. Let's be honest no one is happy about where inflation sits today however it still wont crash the market but probably it will normalise the prices. The market for rental properties will increase because fewer people can qualify for mortgages if this continues. Demand has been ahead of Supply, shortage of properties in the market still continues.

Smoke alarms are shown to save lives. one of the best things we as homeowners can do to be prepared in order to avoid disaster is to keep a properly functioning smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector in our homes. There are fines applied to Landlords in order for them to follow the legislations. However, should that be even needed, isnt your property your responsibility?

£5000 fine is much more than getting a Smoke Alarm and Carbon Monoxide detector, You are saving other people's lives and your property. THINK!
