Ram Lambs (637) — Average £120, topped at £156.50
Ewe Lambs (218) — Average £126.50, topped at £149
Mixed Lambs (709) — Average 128, topped at £151.50
Store Lambs (4) - Average £41.75, topped at £61

Up up up and away. Dearest store lamb trade we have ever seen at Talybont! Certainly was blast off. We can't understand why you need to travel your lambs
A tremendous yard of 1,567 store lambs met one of the strongest rings of buyers seen at Talybont, with 25 active bidders ensuring plenty of competition across all classes. Buyers for all and had travelled nationwide.
The trade was easily £18-£22 up on our previous sale, with buyers showing a real appetite for lambs of all types.
We could have comfortably managed 2,500+ lambs tonight — the demand is there!
🔥 CLEAN LAMBS & EWE LAMBS
Top price of £151.50 for Texel x lambs from CG Williams, Draindoun
-12 pens over £140
- Next two pens of Texel x — £150.50 & £149
- Strong, well-made clean lambs — £135–£155
- Medium-keeping lambs — £120–£130
- Later spring lambs — £105–£110
- Plenty of buyers for longer-term lambs, with the current grass situation encouraging demand.
- Only the really small lambs were trading below £100.
💥 TUP LAMBS
An excellent entry of 636 tup lambs, sold to a top of £156.50 for a pen of Texel x from K Williams
The top nine pens of tup lambs all broke £145, all being strong, powerful lambs.
As with the clean lambs, there was plenty of trading between £135 and £150
💥 Plenty of February-farming tups either side of £135
💥 Longer, hill-type lambs — £100–£110
With 23 active bidders around the ring, competition was fierce and there was buyers for all sorts of lambs.

Yearling Ewes up to £285 averaging £265
Aged Ewes up to 202 averaging £185
A solid entry selling to a packed ring of buyers. A terrific run of well turned out ewes from Percy Jenkins topping his run of 159 at £285 and the next pen at £282. Leaving a run average of £275.
A reduced entry of aged but once again a nice consignment from Dai Mantle selling his first pen of 3/4year old at £202. His pen of FM/BM ewes selling at £155. Thomas Jones, Pentwyn showing his usual pens of Cheviot ewe lambs topping at £152 & £140. I must thank vendors for their support.
