In preparation for the approaching storm we wanted to share some helpful tips.
🔦🕯Arrange emergency lighting, whether it's candles and dry matches, a wind-up torch or a camping lantern - any of these items will come in handy in the event of a power failure. Never leave a burning candle unattended. 🕯🔦
🥫🥣Stock up on non-perishable food. Plus plenty of bottled water - if getting to the shops later isn't an option. 🥣🥫
👴🏾👵🏻Check on elderly or vulnerable neighbours who may need assistance or unaware of the situation approaching. 👴🏻👵🏽
🚲♻️ Secure, weigh-down or bring inside any items that may fly away, break, or cause damage to other items - bikes, recycling boxes, ♻️🚲
🔋📲 Fully charge your devices and any power-banks you may have in case of power outages 📲🔋
⚡️💦 Check where your water mains is, and familiarise yourself with your electricity fuse box 💦⚡️
📻📡Have a wind-up radio to hand. There are lots of waterproof wind-up emergency radios to choose from. These are a helpful way to keep up-to-date with news reports and safety advice if the power goes out and your phone loses charge.📡📻
🩹🤕Stock up on basic first aid such as plasters and bandages. Plus, make sure you've got enough of any prescribed medication that you need. Having blankets and sleeping bags around is also a good idea.🤕🩹
📞📵Have a list of useful numbers written down and stored in a waterproof bag, in case your phone runs out of power. Good numbers to include are your family, insurance provider, trusted tradespeople (such as electricians, plumbers and gas engineers), and your utility suppliers. 📵📞
❤️Keep yourself, friends and loved ones safe. ❤️
