📅 SOUTH WEST LANDLORDS – SAVE THESE DATES!

The Government’s new “Register your Rental Property” service launches nationally on 15th December 2026, but the legal requirement is being introduced region by region.

📍 For South West landlords:

🟢 15th August 2027 – Registration period begins
🔴 14th November 2027 – Registration deadline

That gives landlords a three-month window to register.

We’ll keep our landlords updated as registration gets closer.

💷 LANDLORDS – THE £65 REGISTRATION FEE ISN’T A ONE-OFF

Under the Government’s new “Register your rental property” service, registration will need to be renewed every year.

So, the more properties you own, the greater the annual cost – something landlords with larger portfolios will need to factor into their running costs.

The Government says the fees will contribute towards operating the service and supporting councils with identifying and tackling non-compliance in the private rented sector.

Under the new “Register your Rental Property” service, landlords will need to start and complete their own registration.

The good news? Your letting agent or property manager will be able to help provide some of the required information on your behalf.

Ultimately, though, the responsibility remains with the landlord.

For our fully managed landlords, SWR will be keeping a close eye on the guidance and supporting you as much as possible when registration opens.
