💙 So… who’s packed for summer and got autumn instead? ☔😂
After that lovely little heatwave last week, Devon seems to have remembered it’s Devon.
But let’s be honest, seasoned visitors know that a rainy day doesn’t ruin a Brixham holiday — it just changes the plan.
My wet weather survival guide:
☕ A long coffee and a slice of cake overlooking the harbour
🍺 A pub lunch that accidentally turns into an afternoon session
🐟 Watching the fishing boats come and go from somewhere warm and dry
🛍 A wander around the independent shops (purely for shelter, obviously)
🎭 Catching a show at the theatre
🏊 A swim at Shoalstone. If it’s raining, you’re getting wet anyway 😅
🍷 Heading back to your holiday cottage with good food, a bottle of something nice and absolutely no intention of going back out
And if all else fails…
🌧 Stand by the window, stare thoughtfully at the sky and confidently announce:
“It’s definitely brightening up over there.”
(Points awarded if “over there” is several miles away 😂)
💬 What’s your favourite thing to do in Brixham when the weather isn’t playing ball?
